Ear Mites in Dogs
At some point of time in their lives, all dogs encounter ear mites. Though there are many species of ear mites that can invade your dog's ear, all of them are referred to as 'ear mites'. Ear mites can be found anywhere on the dog's body not just the ears.
Dogs with ear mites will be scratching around their ears or flapping their ears. The initial stages of infection may be tolerant but severe cases casuse extreme discomfort and bleeding in the ears. Check your dog's ears regularly for any brownish residue or a foul odor. All these are symptoms of an ear infection.
Ear mites can be passed from the mother to the pups and also between household pets like cats and rabbits. Ear mites cannot be trasferred from dogs to humans though.
If the ear mites are not treated they may damamge the ear drums or cause hearing loss. Keep your dog's ears always clean and visit the vet in case of an infection.

Marley and Me
Marley and Me - it could have easily been "Nyx and me". Thats because I was able to visualise myself and Nyx,my labrador swapping places with John Grogan and Marley. Most of the things that Marley has done are so similar to what Nyx does.
I enjoyed reading the book and it brought tears to my eyes as I reached the last few chapters.
Some books that I am looking forward to read are:
The Bravest Dog Ever: The True Story of Balto

Little Dog Moon

A Dog's Gotta Do What a Dog's Gotta Do: Dogs at Work
